Dulwich Townhouses in Evening Standard

Townhouses in Dulwich Village

The Evening Standard, through Homes and Property, recently posted an article about our most recent home staging project. We spent four days staging two of these six Dulwich Townhouses, filling the open spaces with contemporary furniture to match with the modern aesthetic of the build. As noted in the article, Dulwich is a village within London that feels different due to its history of preserving its state back in Victorian times; flash forward to the present and you’ll find it is a much sought after location which is within short commuting distance to the city while still being surrounded by parks and greenery and feeling like another place altogether.

We loved the atmosphere these terraced homes exuded from the moment we first walked in, especially knowing we would be working with massive windows overlooking forests in the rear garden – a rare sight in London!

History of Edward Milner

The article goes on to mention the namesake of the property developer (Edward Milner Terrace). Edward Milner was an English landscape artist during the mid and late 1800s who once lived at 1 Fountain Drive, which is the location of these six new townhouses. True to his name, the developers have embraced the exterior surroundings as much as interior considerations and delivered truly beautiful homes for prospective buyers.

The Positives of Home Staging

With advertising increasing for this new development, the fact that these terraced houses available for viewings have been staged with furniture is a smart move for the developers. Home staging has been shown to be a positive investment in all aspects of selling properties. In the Home Staging Associations 2019 Report they carried out studies and asked industry experts their thoughts on home staging. The statistics speak for themselves:

  • 94% of estate agents said that home staging increased their number of viewings.
  • 100% of property developers said that home staging increased their number of viewings.
  • 86% of estate agents said that a staged property sold faster than a non-staged home.
  • 100% of property developers agreed that a staged property sold faster than a non-staged home.
  • 83% saw an increase on the offer value of staged properties.

Check out our blog post ‘The Benefits of Home Staging‘ for the full breakdown of the report.

If you have a development or home that’s not selling on a crowded market, take this same step as the developers for Edward Milner Terrace did and invest in our award-winning home staging service. You’ll get more viewings, your property will be sold faster, and you’re likely to see an increase on the offer value as a result.
